Kompanio 1300T is the first high-performance SoC for gaming, supporting 5G connectivity for its personal computers. MediaTek's new processor is manufactured on the 6nm process, including a high-performance ARM Cortex-A78 8-core CPU and a power-saving Cortex A-75 core.
The integrated GPU consists of 9 high-performance ARM Mali-G77 MC9 cores, allowing gaming at high frame rates with less heat. In addition, the chip also has an integrated AI processing unit (APU) to handle new voice and video applications.
Kompanio 1300T integrates MediaTek's latest 5G technology including support for all 6 GHz, 5G-2CA bands as well as dual sims supporting 5G. The processor chip can detect usage to automatically adjust power consumption to save battery.
Similar to Qualcomm's high-end chips, the Kompanio 1300T also supports HDR 10+, AI-PQ, and MediaTek's MiraVision technology to protect eyes and filter blue light.
The product can be integrated into devices with dual screens with Full HD resolution or single screens with a maximum resolution of 2.5K 120 Hz refresh rate.
With the capture feature, the Kompanio 1300T supports camera processing of up to 108 megapixels, 4K 60 fps video encoding and decoding, 4K HDR recording. In addition, the product can also decode audio with multi-channel output.
Kompanio 1300T comes with HyperEngine 3.0 technology to increase performance specifically for gaming as well as games that need a low-latency network connection.
MediaTek's new chip-integrated products will also support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 4.2.
MediaTek said the new chip line will be integrated on high-performance tablets or Chromebooks.
